Iced Tea

I have found the taste of stevia to marry particularly well with every type of tea I have tried. Being an herb, it has a natural synergy with other tasty leaves. I've tested black tea, green tea, herbal tea, and fruit-flavored teas. There are many wonderful organic teas to explore...see the Food page of Debra's List (scroll down to Tea).

makes about 3 cups concentrate

3 tablespoons loose tea
1 teaspoon white powdered stevia
3 cups water

  1. Boil the water in a saucepan or tea kettle.
  2. Place the tea in a tea pot and cover with water. Allow to steep for a few minutes to make a strong tea.
  3. Pour the tea into another container and strain out the leaves.
  4. Allow to cool.
  5. Add the stevia to the cool tea and dissolve.
  6. Store in the refrigerator. To serve, mix the concentrate about half and half with water and add ice.
I like to mix the green tea concentrate with the lemon-lime-ade concentrate and water. Mmmmmm.
