Iced Tea
I have found the taste of stevia to marry particularly well with every type of tea I have tried. Being an herb, it has a natural synergy with other tasty leaves. I've tested black tea, green tea, herbal tea, and fruit-flavored teas. There are many wonderful organic teas to explore...see the Food page of Debra's List (scroll down to Tea).
makes about 3 cups concentrate
3 tablespoons loose tea 1 teaspoon white powdered stevia 3 cups water - Boil the water in a saucepan or tea kettle.
- Place the tea in a tea pot and cover with water. Allow to steep for a few minutes to make a strong tea.
- Pour the tea into another container and strain out the leaves.
- Allow to cool.
- Add the stevia to the cool tea and dissolve.
- Store in the refrigerator. To serve, mix the concentrate about half and half with water and add ice.
I like to mix the green tea concentrate with the lemon-lime-ade concentrate and water. Mmmmmm.
